To stay stuck to the ground
"Our wheel's mission is a singular one: to remain stuck to the ground.
There should be no unsprung mass traveling through the air.
We have the ground, we have the rubber, we have the contact patch and the tire footprint.
What happens when the wheel detaches?
A ballistic component is introduced and, above all, there is a total loss of driving force: the wheel is no longer in contact with the ground and accumulates kinetic energy in its own rotation system.
What we must control is not the entirety of the system —swingarm, wheel, and so on— but precisely that amount of change of state.
Because the moment we detach and start to skid, the state of the system changes completely."
